The history of Brazil begins with the arrival of the first Indigenous Peoples, over
8,000 years ago, into the present territory of that nation. Brazil was a colony of
Portugal, exploited mainly for brazilwood at first, and later for sugarcane and, in
the 18th century, for gold. During this period many natives were exterminated,
pushed out of the way or assimilated, and large numbers of African slaves were
brought in. Brazil is today South America's largest economy, the world's ninth
largest economy, and fifth most populous nation. The origins of the first Brazilians,
are called "Indians" (Índios).
Francisco Rodriguez Da Silva aka Nunca, is a young talented Artist descendent
from the indians of Brasil and his art scream the history of his people and shows
the beauty of their unique culture. The tribes in the Amazon have planted in him
the roots and he bleeds with colors their pain and reminds the world of the first
Brazilians.
Nuncas' art is found all over the city of Sao Paulo, in trains, buildings, canvas, etc.
As he continues to explain with Pixo Cao his existence, his art is more intense and
not afraid to be transperent to continue his mission.
These Collar (necklace) represents the Indigenous culture alive and with a mission
